Our Programs

Our programs provide a comprehensive portfolio of initiatives designed to strengthen individuals and advance community wellbeing. Through education, training, and practical resources, we foster leadership, support personal development, and promote holistic mental and emotional health.

Advocates Committed Together in Service

Advocates Committed Together in Service program was established to assemble a “Family” of supporters who “ACTS” are on the behalf of children, youth and families. To serve as a point of contact for collaborative partnerships and programs in support of children and youth placed in the foster care system, living in orphanages as well as children diagnosed with critical illnesses i.e., Cancer and HIV/Aids. And lastly, we help to restore hope with dignity to families transitioning from homelessness moving towards self-sufficiency.

It’s our “Community Idea With A Global Vision.”

Cover With Love

Our “Cover With Love” program has been in operation for 25 years, and we have created more than 600 “Covers With Love.” Beginning in the Long Beach and Los Angeles first, then throughout California then across the United States and as far west as the Buseko Children’s Home, an orphanage in Zambia, Africa. We have reached children in foster care, orphanages, and medical settings, including those who are hospitalized or diagnosed with critical illnesses. We did so by partnering with foster care agencies, orphanages, hospitals, childcare centers, classrooms,

DCFS, and families to identify children who were awarded with their very own “Cover With Love”—a personalized quilt intentionally designed to affirm their identity and belonging. They are easily transported and serve as a tangible reminder of ownership, love, encouragement, and support to let them know just how beautiful, special, precious they are and despite of their circumstances, their life has meaning, and they are not forgotten because we get them “Covered With Love.”

Season of Giving

Our “Season of Giving” program is designed to support families transitioning from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Having personally experienced the loss of a home, I understand that achieving stability often requires assistance and the willingness to ask for help. Regaining security means prioritizing essential needs such as rent, utilities, and transportation, sometimes at the expense of groceries or other necessities.

Our program addresses these challenges by providing resources for families who may feel hesitant to request support. We help with personal care items, groceries, fuel, holiday meals, Christmas gifts, and connect families with community referrals for furniture, appliances, and additional resources.

Giving is always in season because we “Cover With Love.”

Sew -N- Sow with Ms. Marie

The primary objective of the Sew -N- Sow Summer Sewing Series is to offer youth an opportunity to acquire foundational sewing skills and complete their own projects, thereby enhancing their personal development. Additionally, the program serves as a platform for Ms. Marie to impart her expertise and mentor participants, effectively investing in the growth and development of her students.

Through this initiative, participants are introduced to practical and creative skills that stimulate imagination and encourage an interest in design. The experience not only nurtures creativity but also introduces youth to potential entrepreneurial paths within the fashion industry. In addition to developing hands-on sewing abilities and understanding basic design concepts, participants build self-confidence and are encouraged to cultivate their individual sense of style.
