The Mustard Seed Entreprises is a remarkable place where possibilities abound and generosity knows no bounds. We are dedicated to supporting and championing the wellbeing of children, youth, and families impacted by sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence, foster care, the judicial system, homelessness, and poverty in underserved communities. Our mission is fueled by love and a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those we serve.
Is not one based on theory, it’s a living testimony. Our founder has walked through some of the same hardships many families are facing today, and she personally knows what it feels like to be one crisis away from losing everything. She also knows firsthand what happens when compassion arrives on time and how one person, resource, one open door, one act of kindness can make the difference and change the direction of someone’s life.
It’s the very reason why The Mustard Seed Entreprise exists—to stand in the gap, to serve with dignity, restore hope with action, and to help others overcome and rise above their circumstances—encouraged, confident, supported, and ready to Dream… Again. On Purpose.
Ida Marie Briggs, affectionately known as “Ms. Marie,” is the Founder of The Mustard Seed Entreprise, a Los Angeles County–based nonprofit organization serving children, youth, and families. Her leadership is grounded in providing service with dignity to restore hope through community outreach, all of which was shaped by lived experiences she herself encountered and advocates for others today.
She is a creator, designer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, author, playwright, international speaker, and trauma-informed navigational coach & more. More importantly, she draws from her lived experiences—having learned to navigate through circumstances with faith, resilience; equipped and leading with a steadfast commitment to encourage others to “Use What You Got” to keep moving through, up, over and out of their circumstances with intention and purpose.
In September 2000, she established The Mustard Seed Entreprise and launched Advocates Committed Together in Service (ACTS), becoming a trusted grassroots resource and collaborative partner in the community. Then life shifted. Shortly after the organization’s first successful outreach, Ms. Marie and her family were displaced by a fire—an unexpected loss that took their home and left them homeless. In an instant, she was facing what so many families know too well: stability can vanish overnight, and when it does, support matters. She refused to let that season break her; she let it build her—deepening her compassion, strengthening her voice, and sharpening her resolve to advocate for families navigating trauma and transition. This was her turning point, when she discovered something powerful: her strength was not only in surviving, but in serving.
What she has learned to survive became what she now uses to serve. A seed planted and watered by adversity—yet activated by purpose; is the same seed growing as it continues to shape the vision for The Mustard Seed Entreprise
“Use What You Got” Make It Great & Keep Going. On Purpose!

A skill and trade training program focused on teaching the youth in local communities the skill of sewing as a way to encourage skill development and teaching the value of sustainability through fashion, garments, and home furnishing that can be dispersed into their communities.
The Mustard Seed Entreprise is honored by our “Family” of supporters who ACT on behalf of the children, youth and families we serve. Your support makes all things possible.
From experiencing homelessness to becoming a source of hope for others, our journey is built on resilience, compassion, and purpose. We understand the struggle, and we exist to help others rise again.
In September 2000, we started with a promise to ACT on behalf of those in crisis. Today, that promise continues to transform lives every single day.
We are unwavering in our commitment to serve the whole person—protecting dignity, restoring hope, and strengthening social, emotional, and physical wellbeing while responding to essential, often unspoken needs. We create safe, trauma-informed spaces where healing is possible, belonging is protected, and individuals are equipped to move from surviving to thriving through leadership development, entrepreneurship, and creative expression.
For our donors and supporters, this commitment is a promise of stewardship and measurable impact. We partner with value-aligned individuals and organizations, invest resources responsibly, and track outcomes with transparency—so every gift becomes a tangible step toward safety, stability, and renewed possibility for the children, youth, women, and families we serve
